Floral
- All entries must be insect free - all infected specimens will be removed.
- Large blooms are shown as single blooms. (Dahlias specimen must have first pair of true leaves attached to each stem. Length of stem in proportion to the size of bloom.)
- Small blooms are shown with 3 blooms - blooms must be the same size.
- Entries must be grown for exhibit by the exhibitor.
- One entry of each variety of cut specimen per exhibitor, family or household please.
- Entries must have at least the specie name (for example: gladiola) to receive a blue ribbon. Please note the variety, if known.
- Container gardens should list the plants used.
Hints for working with flowers
- Water shrubs & vines well for several days prior to cutting specimens.
- Cut stems at an angle, re-cut under water. Cut or split woody stems.
- Pick flowers in early morning or evening, several hours to 1 day before entry.
- Remove excess foliage below waterline before placing in container.
