Horse Rules & Regulations

Each exhibitor must:

  • Have a number from the fair secretary before entering any classes. Use this number for your entries in all other departments.
  • Have a signed horse show release form.
  • Use the same horse for all events including fitting & showing and games for high point trophies.
  • Ride in designated areas only or forfeit premiums and ribbons.
  • Follow Lacamas Fair rules posted at the office. Anything not covered by Lacamas Fair rules, will follow Pierce County rules.
  • Wear boots & a helmet. This is required for all age divisions.
  • Have control of your horse or be excused from the show area.
  • Take horses home each night. There are no overnight facilities for horses.
  • Remain on the grounds with the horse until 4:00 PM each night.
  • Clean up trailer area before leaving.

Other Important Information

  • Small Fry classes are walk-trot only.
  • Walk/trot exhibitors may not cross enter into walk/trot/canter classes.
  • Age divisions will be determined by the grade last completed.
  • Leadline exhibitors must have a handler that is 13 years old or older.
  • More than one class may combined in the arena for judging. The classes will show together, but will be judged separately.
  • If riding multiple horses, the horse shown in Showmanship will be used to determine high point.
  • Only horses shown in Showmanship will be considered for High Point awards.
  • An exhibitor/horse combination may enter each class only once (i.e. Western Eq-leadline may not also enter Western Eq-Small Fry)
